THE Iloilo Provincial Population Office (PPO) was recently recognized as Most Outstanding Population Office in the country. Ramon Yee who is now in his ten years of service was awardedas second placer as Most Outstanding Provincial Population Officer in Western Visayas. They also conducted the search for the Best ManagedPopulation Data Bank and Best Statistical Data Board in the differentmunicipalities. They also held service recognition for BSPOs who have volunteeredfor at least 35 years. BY NEONITA GOBUYAN PPO chief Ramon C. Yee said that their various programsand projects enabled them to attain the said award. Population data banking cum population and developmentintegration was also enhanced by the office. Trainings for data gathering anddata encoding were also conducted. With the full support of the provincial governor, theyestablished 54 functional school-based multi-purpose teen centers. Iloilo Provincial Population Office chief Ramon Yee and his key officers receive the 2019 Kaunlarang Pantao Award for Best Provincial Population Office from the Commission on Population and Development. Iloilo PPO was recognized for its efficientorganizational structure composed of 55 personnel operating in the 42municipalities and one component city with 2,365 volunteer Barangay ServicePoint Officers (BSPO) in 1,721 barangays of the province.
