first_img Special hours for Canyons box office VALENCIA – Residents looking to purchase tickets for holiday shows at the College of the Canyon’s Vital Express Center for the Performing Arts should be aware of the center’s main box office’s temporary move and holiday box hours. The main box office is moving to the College of the Canyons Access Center, located in the Canyon Country Library building at 18601 Soledad Canyon Road, this week. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The box office will reopen Dec. 27 in the Student Center (S-127) at the main College of the Canyons campus, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 27 to 30, and 1 to 4 p.m. on Dec. 31. The main box office will be closed Jan. 2 to 4 and open on Jan. 5 and 6, after which the normal operating schedule will resume. The theater box office, located at the center’s entrance, will be open 6 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 31. Those wishing to purchase tickets can also make purchases online at www.VitalExpressCenter.com. Sha Na Na to play New Year’s concert VALENCIA- Sha Na Na will perform New Year’s Eve at College of the Canyon’s Vital Express Center for the Performing Arts, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road. Sha Na Na appeared at Woodstock, performed regularly at the Fillmore East, had their own TV variety show and were featured in the movie “Grease.” Tickets are $75 for front orchestra and balcony box, $60 for back orchestra and front balcony and $45 for back balcony seating. The concert will begin at 9 p.m. and end by 11 p.m. Dec. 31. An extra-cost New Year’s Eve Bash will follow in the College of the Canyons S-Building student dining room. Party tickets are only available with the purchase of Sha Na Na concert ticket. The party includes music, food and drinks. Sha Na Na will attend along with a DJ to count down the new year and celebrate until 1 a.m. Regular admission for the party is $60. Guests can also purchase VIP tickets to the party for $100, which includes a meet and greet with Sha Na Na prior to the concert at 8:30 p.m., an autographed photo of Sha Na Na and a CD. Winter, spring class registration open VALENCIA – Students can now register for both the winter session and the spring semester at College of the Canyons, with an extended fee deadline until Jan. 13. Registration details are as follows: Online and telephone registration are open through Sunday. Registration closes temporarily today through Dec. 25. Registration for the winter and spring sessions (online and telephone) reopens Dec. 26. Winter registration closes on Jan. 2 and classes start Jan. 3. Fees are due Jan. 13 or seven days after registration, whichever is later. Spring registration closes Feb. 1 and reopens at 1 p.m. Feb 3. Spring classes start Feb. 6. If a class is already full, students are encouraged to attend the first day of class to see if seats are open. With the instructor’s approval, students can then: Add winter classes through Jan. 6. Add spring classes at 1 p.m. on Feb. 3 until the add deadline for the class. Add classes via telephone, online or in person during those dates.
