India favourites for World Cup, says Shikhar Dhawan

India had won the 2011 World Cup at home and then reached the semi-finals in 2015 before losing to eventual champions Australia.Shikhar Dhawan is now in the middle of the 2019 Indian Premier League campaign for Delhi Capitals but in an interview Boria Majumdar, said he was keeping himself fresh and managing his workload ahead of the World Cup. He said the Indian team has the perfect blend of experience and youth and is a favourite for the World Cup.”The Indian team has a perfect blend of experience and youth,” Dhawan told India Today’s Boria Majumdar.Shikhar Dhawan has scored only 152 runs from 6 matches for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2019 but he said he was confident of doing well for India in the World Cup. He had shown signs of form and his class with a 143 against Australia in Mohali in March.In the ODIs in New Zealand, Shikhar Dhawan had scored back-to-back fifties in Napier and Mount Maunganui.
